AIMS – Annual International (bio)Medical Students Meeting

The AIMS Meeting [Annual International (bio)Medical Students Meeting] is the largest European Biomedical Conference organized by medical students. It is essentially advocated by the Faculty of Medicine of the Lisbon Students’ Association and highlights the importance of medical education for all students of health sciences through a diverse approach.

This year, the AIMS Meeting 2022 will have about 1000 participants from 27 different countries, proving to be an internationally renowned congress, being acclaimed worldwide in the field of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

Throughout its history, it has already had internationally prominent speakers, namely Prof. Harald Zur Hausen, winner of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, or Prof. Peter Agre, winner of the 2003 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

For this edition, the congress programme includes three thematic modules, each with lectures focusing on a specific medical area: The Day After („A New Beginning), Reaching Balance („Nature vs Nurture”) and Custom Made („Tailored Healthcare”).

There will also be space for Keynote Lectures, where it will be possible to attend the lectures of Dr. Henry Marsh, renowned neurosurgeon and author of the bestseller „Do No Harm: Stories of Life, Death and Brain Surgery”, of Prof. John O’Keefe, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2014, and Prof. Brian Kobilka, winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2012.
